Daily Devotional - October 11, 2026

Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based on the themes from the sermon on Sunday, October 11, 2026:

Day 1: Seeing What God Sees
Reading: Exodus 2:1-10; Hebrews 11:23
Devotional: Amram and Jochebed looked at their newborn son and perceived something beyond what ordinary eyes could detect. They saw the hand of God already at work. Fear of Pharaoh's decree was real, but faith in God's purpose proved stronger. This is the nature of God-given sight -- it perceives divine intention where others see only danger or impossibility. Ask yourself today: in the circumstances pressing hardest against you, are you looking with natural eyes or with the eyes of faith? God's purposes are already in motion. Trust what He sees even when you cannot.

Day 2: Choosing the Eternal Over the Temporary
Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:17-18; Hebrews 11:24-26
Devotional: Moses walked away from forty years of royalty, comfort, and status. He did not do so carelessly -- he weighed the pleasures of Egypt against the eternal reward of belonging fully to God, and he chose God. That choice cost him everything the world considers valuable. Yet Scripture holds him up as a model, not a cautionary tale. The pleasures of this life are not wicked simply because they exist, but they are temporary. The reward Moses fixed his eyes on is eternal and unshakeable. What temporary comfort are you holding too tightly today? Loosen your grip and look further ahead.

Day 3: Growing From Fear to Faith
Reading: Exodus 3:1-12; Hebrews 11:27
Devotional: Moses left Egypt twice. The first time, he fled in fear. The second time, he walked forward in faith. The distance between those two departures was not measured in miles but in years of daily communion with God in the wilderness. Faith that stands boldly before kings and plagues does not appear overnight. It is cultivated through quiet, faithful, ordinary days of walking with the Lord. If your faith feels small today, do not despise where you are in the journey. Stay close to God. The burning bush moments come to those who are already faithfully tending their flock.

Day 4: Faith That Leads and Ripples Outward
Reading: Joshua 2:8-11; Hebrews 11:29-31
Devotional: Rahab had never crossed the Red Sea. She had never stood in the wilderness with Moses. Yet the faith of an entire people rippled outward across borders and generations until it reached her window in the walls of Jericho. She heard, she believed, and her life was transformed. Your faith is never contained to your own heart. Every step of trust you take, every act of obedience, every quiet surrender to God sends ripples outward into lives you may never fully see. Someone is watching how you walk with God. Your faithfulness today may become another person's reason to believe.

Day 5: Shouting Before the Walls Fall
Reading: Joshua 6:1-20; Romans 8:17-18
Devotional: The walls of Jericho were still standing when the people of Israel were commanded to shout. That shout was not a celebration of victory already seen -- it was a declaration of faith in a God whose word is more certain than stone walls. Some of you have been walking around the same wall for a very long time. The ridicule has been real. The silence has been hard. The waiting has been exhausting. But God is calling you today to shout before the answer comes. Praise Him for the victory that is already secured in His promise. He has never lost a battle.
